When you’re a kid, bedwetting often feels impossible to talk about, even to your parents. But for nonspeaking autistic children, it actually is impossible. Prior to this project with The Autism Society of America, bedwetting was not included in the language systems used by many nonspeaking children, even though autistic children are significantly more likely to wet the bed.

Kate Degen and I came up with the Language of Bedwetting to give children the words they lacked. This project was brought to life by the McCann New York team.
